The half-day trip is a three hour excursion filled with some of the most exciting rapids on the Deschutes River – the perfect river adventure for all ages. Your trip begins with a quick bus ride to the launch point a few miles up-river from Maupin where you will unload and be given in-depth safety orientation by one of our experienced guides.

From the launch site, you will be introduced to your guide who will get you on the river and forward paddling straight into the best rapids on the first half of the trip: Wapinitia, Sneaker, and the famous Boxcar! After a calm stretch of water in which you can relax in the boat or jump in for a quick and safe swim, the second half of the trip continues with the most thrilling rapid of the day, Oak Springs. The whitewater continues as you paddle through exciting rapids Upper Elevator, Swimmer’s Rapid, and Lower Elevator. Your adventure concludes with takeout at Sandy Beach and another short shuttle ride back to your starting point in Maupin.

This is the trip for you! We offer two half-day trips each day – check-ins at 9:00am for morning trips and 1:30pm for afternoon.
